Sketches about a (rather dark) concept for the Hachitsu. The Hachitsu take reproduction very seriously, since having babies means being saddled with 9-12 kids since their litters are so large. Parents who accidentally have kids and may need extra money would sell their litters to the Scarlet Wasps, the major gang in the kingdom. This eventually became an illegal adoption ring where gang members would charge high prices and not vet out who adopted a child. Rich folk who didn’t want to have kids themselves would buy litters and pretend they were biologically there’s, or more sketchy people would take them.
